Ideas with plants for modern houses in Gurgaon

The use of vegetation is a common resource in any decoration proposal. Plants provide oxygen when they carry out photosynthesis, so they also help us to renew the atmosphere of the home. If we also choose aromatic plants we can generate a much more pleasant atmosphere in the spaces of the house. But just as splendid plants, well cared for, look spectacular in a domestic interior, it is no less true that withered vegetation has the opposite effect, causing spaces to look neglected and unhealthy. For this reason, we recommend that you always bet on introducing plants at home and, as far as possible, that they are live plants. Dried flowers are also very decorative but they do not provide the rest of the properties that natural plants have.

Before launching to place vegetation at home, we recommend that you do a little reflection on your habits, schedules and customs; also that you analyze the conditions of the spaces of your house. With this data and expert advice, it will be easier to choose the most suitable species for each place. We give you some tips to help you introduce greenery at home and create more natural, fresh and personal interiors.

Appropriate spices

We have all seen very striking plants or flowers on many occasions and we have thought how well they would look in our house. But we must not forget that a plant is not a piece of furniture, that is, not all plants are worth in any environment, no matter how much we like them. When choosing vegetable elements for the home, we must choose the  right spices, taking into account the hydrothermal conditions of the house, the sun they are going to receive, the seasonality of each species, the frequency with which we can water them, etc. There are so many species of indoor plants, that we will always find a type that adapts to what we are looking for in terms of appearance (color, shape, height,…), depending on where we have thought of placing it, but that also has the right characteristics to live with us. , dedicating the necessary care to keep them healthy and radiant.

An indoor garden

If we are lucky enough to have an interior garden or semi-outdoor, because we have a central patio in the house, as in the house in the image, a gallery or a large terrace, we will have to adapt its plants to the seasons of the year. Plants are living beings and, therefore, are affected by changes in temperature, sunlight and humidity. Many of the ornamental plants that we have at home do not live all year round, so it will be necessary to replace the plant elements depending on the season in which we find ourselves and the care will vary according to the time of year. It will be necessary, therefore, to update the seasonal varieties, acquiring the species that best withstand each new season. In addition, we must pay them, prune them and administer the treatments that each species requires at each time of the year.

Content and container

A fairly common way of arranging plants indoors is by using traditional pots. In this case, not only does the plant have a decorative function in the space in which it is placed, but also the container itself is one more accessory in the decoration. We can use the traditional conical pots or more innovative shapes, through pots with special designs. Another classic are the rectangular planters, like the one we see in the image.

Depending on the shape of the container, its design, the material with which it is made, its size and the set it forms with the chosen plant itself, we will achieve very different effects in the room in which it is placed.

Pots

The plant that we choose must take into account the composition that it creates with the rest of the elements, this will lead us to look for a plant with a certain shade of green, with or without flowers, with large or small leaves, where verticality prevails or, for the opposite, more leafy. The pot will also respond to the decorative style used in the room, both in terms of its design and the manufacturing material. Look at the balanced composition that our experts  create with the large pots of classic design arranged, symmetrically, on both sides of this impressive wrought iron door. The versatility of the chosen plants reinforces the perception of protection generated by these striking plant elements, flanking the entrance to an office with a colonial air that transmits serenity and comfort.

Hanging plants

Today we can find the most varied pots, as varied is the way to integrate them into the interiors. We find a multitude of alternatives to traditional clay or ceramic pots, from metal containers to glass or fiberglass pots, playing not only with the texture of the material, but also with colour.

When choosing the most suitable pot, we must take into account the size that the roots of the chosen plant reach, but also where and how it will be placed. One option is to place the plants suspended, hanging them from an element located on the ceiling, as we see in the image. For this solution we must have the weight of the container and the system by which it will be hung. Regarding the plant, in this case we will opt for a plant with small leaves that can fall downwards, to achieve the desired effect, and whose maintenance is simple.

Containers made of natural materials

We can use our imagination when choosing the suitcase to put our indoor plants in and reinvent an object that we have at home and that we like to be used as a container for a beautiful plant. In this sense, baskets made of natural materials such as wicker have become fashionable as a container for indoor plants. They are ideal because they give a natural and fresh look to the house, which combines very well with the green and the touches of color provided by the plants and are perfect for almost any style of decoration.

Irrigation

Plant lovers are well aware of the effort involved in keeping them in good condition. The most important factor that we must take into account is irrigation, the frequency of which will depend on the chosen spice; the time to invest in irrigation must be taken into account when choosing the species, considering our personal circumstances. For this reason, if we have many plants at home, it may be advantageous to automate irrigation, even being able to resort to mechanisms that allow us to take advantage of rainwater to make it more ecological.

If we are only looking for punctual plant elements, with an ornamental purpose, it is better to resort to species that need little water and little maintenance (pruning, fertilizers, etc.), that can look healthy without having to dedicate time that we do not have. For these cases, cacti can be our great allies; very ornamental plants and with a range of colors to play with to give a vibrant and natural touch to the interior of our house.
